Profile Honorable Abdul Kargbo

Hon. Abdul Kargbo is a renowned Electronics and Electricals Engineer, a politician, an advocate of human rights, and a great public speaker. He had his initial  primary education at the Services  Primary in Lungi and his high school education  at the Saint Augustine Agricultural Secondary School, lungi. He graduated  from Milton Margai College of Education, Science and Technology (MMCEST) with a diploma and higher national in Electricals and electronics engineering. With a deep desire to uplift his academic prowess , he gained  admission at the Citadel of Learning Fourah Bay College(FBC), University  of S/L where he also graduated with a BEng Honours in Electronics and Electricals Engineering. His relentless quest to seek knowledge propelled him to also do further studies at the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), where he graduated with a Masters of Public Administration. He did ITIL foundation with global knowledge, UK. 

Hon. Abdul Kargbo  has inspired countless individuals. Being once a student union governor of Milton Margai College and a student union president FBC, As an astute graduate, he worked for Comium and the African Minerals Limited(AML) as senior engineer and IT supervisor, respectively. He served as president of the Comium  Staff Association. His leadership styles and outstanding teamwork, coupled with humility and vision, left him as one of the best.  

As a politician, he was voted as a member of parliament under the ticket of the All Peoples Congress in 2018. As an MP with a youthful inspiration , he served as the Chairman of the  Parliamentary Youth Committee for 5 years, where he championed a lot of youth activities and programs in collaboration with the Ministry of Youths Affairs. He is the current leader of the opposition in the Sierra Leone Parliament and an astute member of the ECOWAS Parliament. 

Hon. Abdul Kargbo has received numerous accolades in recognition for his work, including being the 10 Most influential Sierra Leoneans in 2018 awarded by the SALONE TIMES newspaper; He is awarded as the Best Member of Parliament in several occasions by both Bai Burreh Heritage Awards, DIASPORA FOCUS awards. He is dubbed as the most outstanding MP of the 5th parliament by the Institute of Governance Reform(IGR) Parliamentary Report in 2022, plus a lot of other awards by both national and international organizations. Hon. Abdul Kargbo has also been a trailblazer in humanitarian and community projects in his constituency. He built and sponsored the only pre-school free of cost at MAYAYA SECTION in Lungi with free books, uniforms, and other learning materials, including the payment of teachers' salaries. 

He is currently the leader of the opposition in the 6th parliament of the second republic of Sierra Leone
