1. ECONOMIC AND BUDGET BRIEFS
The Economic and Budget Brief published by the PBO is intended to update Members of Parliament (MPs), Parliamentary Committees, researchers, etc. on recent macroeconomic, fiscal and budgetary developments. It looks at GDP, Public debt, exchange rates, monetary policy and interest rate movements, inflationary trends, domestic revenue and expenditure performance. From time to time, the report also delves into the country’s ease of doing business, and Gender mainstreaming of the national budget.

3.SUMMARY OF THE FISCAL STRATEGY STATEMENT 2024-2028
The 2024-2028 Fiscal Strategy Statement (FSS), is prepared in fulfillment of section 23 (1) of the PFM Act, 2016 and contains the fiscal objectives of the Government for the next five years (2024-2028), and proposes measures for achieving those objectives over the period. The FSS provides early indications to Cabinet and Parliament of the main revenue and expenditure targets and budget allocations to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) for the medium-term. The minister of Finance appears in the House to give statement on the Bill entitled “The Appropriation Act 2024”, which will authorize expenditure from the Consolidated Revenue Fund for the services of Sierra Leone for 2024. The uncertain global economic environment, coupled with high food and energy prices continued to weigh on economic growth in 2023. The district fact sheets have been produced as the first major output of the Parliamentary Budget Office and it aims to provide an overview of key development indicators across selected thematic development subjects in Sierra Leone. 7. 2023-2024 BUDGET APPROPRIATION QUESTIONNAIRE FOR MDAs
Ahead of the Committee of Supply of the whole House, Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are required to complete and return a Questionnaire to assist Parliamentary Appropriation sub-committees in their review of the MDAs previous years expenditure, current year running budget and allocations, and proposed budgetary estimates for the year ahead.
