Rt. Hon. Dr. Abass Chernor Bundu was born on 3rdGbinti, Port Loko District to Pa Santigie and Isatu Kallay Bundu. 

He is a Lawyer, tactful Politician, Diplomat and the current Speaker of the House of the Republic of Sierra Leone Parliament which is the highest Law Making body.

He was elected as Speaker of Parliament on 25th April, 2018 by affirmatives of 71 votes out of 76 present.

Rt. Hon Dr. Abass Chernor Bundu is a very close ally and personal friend to His Excellency Julius Maada Bio, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone

He is one of the most senior Northern politicians and one of the most influential members of the ruling Sierra Leone People's Party

Rt. Hon Dr. Abass Chernor Bundu is the older brother of Hon. Ibrahim Bundu, a member of the opposition All People's Congress and former majority leader of the House of Parliament .

From 1989 to 1993, Rt. Hon Dr. Abass Chernor Bundu was the Executive Secretary of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). He also served at various times as Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources; Tourism and Cultural Affairs and Foreign Affairs and International Corporations 

He was the Presidential Candidate of the now defunct Progressive People's Party (PPP) in the 1996 Sierra Leone presidential election. 


Abass Chernor Bundu was born in the rural town of GbintiPort Loko District in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone and is of Fula and Temne descent. Abass Bundu grew up in a deeply religious Muslim household and is a devout Muslim.


Rt. Hon Dr. Abass Chernor Bundu attended the St. Andrews Secondary School in Bo, the Methodist Boys' High School in Freetown and the St. Edward's Secondary School also in Freetown. While in secondary school, Bundu was a very brilliant student and he was highly admired by his fellow students and teachers.

Immediately after secondary school, Bundu left Sierra Leone as a youth and moved abroad to further his education. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Australian National University (ANU) and both a Master of Laws and a PhD in International Law from the University of Cambridge, England. He is also a Barrister-at-Law.


Rt. Hon Dr. Abass Chernor Bundu numerous positions include a Law Tutor in Cambridge University, Assistant Director of International Affairs and Consultant in Constitutional Law in the Commonwealth Secretariat in London from 1975–82; Executive Secretary of Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) from 1989–1993, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation (19931995), Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources 1982–85; member of Parliament 1982-1992 and Presidential candidate in the 1996 Presidential election in Sierra Leone. 

He is an expert on West African affairs and a renowned expert on constitutional and international law. Bundu has written a critical analysis of the Civil War in Sierra Leone, in his book entitled “Democracy by Force?” and several legal articles in various international legal journals.


In 1991, Rt. Hon Dr. Abass Chernor Bundu strongly criticized President Joseph Saidu Momoh's Government for including clauses in the draft Sierra Leone Constitution 1991 that would have enabled President Momoh to contest under the 1991 Constitution with a clean slate and ignoring the 7-years stint he had served as President from 1985-1992; For this stance, he was expelled from the APC Party along with nine other people.


In 1996, Rt. Hon Dr. Abass Chernor Bundu formed his own political party (PPP) and ran for President in Sierra Leone. His bid was unsuccessful.

Presently he is the Speaker of the First Session of the Fifth Parliament of the Second Republic of Sierra Leone.

Hon. Segepoh Solomon Thomas Deputy Speaker 089 SLPP

The Rt. Hon. Segepoh Solomon Thomas was born on the 14th May, 1976 in Bo Town, Bo District in the Southern Province of Sierra Leone to Mr. Philip Segepoh Thomas and Madam Agnes Yeama Thomas.  He is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Superior Courts of Sierra Leone, a teacher, a politician and the current sitting Deputy Speaker of the Sierra Leone Parliament.

The Rt. Hon. Segepoh Solomon Thomas is a second-term Member of Parliament representing Constituency 089 in the Bonthe District, the home district of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio and an outstanding politician of that district.  He belongs to the Sherbro ethnic group, one of the smallest ethnic groups in Sierra Leone who live mostly on the Bonthe Island and along the coasts of Sierra Leone. 

Educational Background

The Rt. Hon. Segepoh Solomon Thomas attended the Saint Patrick’s Primary School and the Bonthe Secondary School in Bonthe and the Agricultural and Vocational Secondary School and Christ the King College in Bo, all in the Southern Province of Sierra Leone.

Upon completing Secondary/High School, the Rt. Hon. Segepoh Solomon Thomas was admitted into the Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone in 1998 where he studied for eleven years.  He is a holder of a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) Degree in English and Sociology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Dip.Ed.) a Bachelor of Laws with Honours {LLB (Hons)}, a Degree of Utter Barrister and several certificates in related fields.


In 2008 the Rt. Hon. Segepoh Solomon Thomas was engaged with the Defence Chambers of the Special Court for Sierra Leone, a hybrid (Local and International) Court created by the United Nations and the Government of Sierra Leone to try persons most responsible for crimes against humanity during the eleven years civil war in Sierra Leone.  He then proceeded into full time private practice until his engagement in politics in 2012.  He was at all material times a school teacher.

Profile Honourable Matthew Sahr Nyuma

Born on 17th September 1973 in Kenema Eastern Region of Sierra Leone. He is a Politician with a BSc (Hons) in Marine Science and Diploma in Data Processing.

He was elected Member of Parliament for Constituency 019 in the Kenema District Eastern Region under the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) in the 2007-2012 elections. His people trusted him so much as they believed he served them well and they decided to present him and elect him again in the 2012 election. Having served in that capacity for two terms ensuring that better legislations and oversight are done for effective service delivery to his people, they had no option but to allow him to take the mantle of leadership again for the third term as Member of Parliament in the just concluded March 2018 elections. 

Honourable Matthew Sahr Nyuma is the Deputy Leader of Government Business and Chairman for Information Committee. Also he is the Deputy Chairman for the Appointment and public service committee. He is a member of three other Committees in the house of Parliament; Health and Sanitation Committee, Transport and Aviation Committee and the Ethics Committee,

Hon. Chernor Maju Bah Member Of Parliament 126 APC
Profile Honourable Chernor Maju Bah

Born on 29th April 1972 in Wilberforce Western Area of Sierra Leone. He is a Barrister and Solicitor of the high court.  He is a holder ofLLB (Hons, USL); BL(Sierra Leone, Law School) and Currently LLM student (University of London, distance education.

Honourable Chernor Maju Bah is the leader of the main opposition All People’s Congress Party (APC). He has served in the well of Parliament as the deputy Speaker of Parliament. He was elected Member of Parliament for constituency 126 Western Area Urban in 2007.Having represented his people and with the good work he did, he was called upon again to serve them in 2012. His advocacy and contributions in the well of Parliament after the 2012 elections did not go unnoticed as he was elected deputy speaker of the house of Parliament.

Honourable Chernor Bah believes in the principles of the All People’s Congress Party and his contributions in the two terms of office were great. The people of constituency 126 realised his good work as they believe that he is the only fitted candidate to represent them. With their call he contested for the Member of Parliament role for constituency 126 in 2018. He was faced with many challenges but was able to overcome it and became successful in winner the March 2018 elections. He is presently in the well of Parliament advocating on issues that are of national interest and can help change the standard of living of Sierra Leoneans.

Hon. Bashiru Silikie Member Of Parliament 082 SLPP

Born on 3rd September 1981 in Yamandu
Bo District Southern Region of Sierra Leone.
He is an Administrator with MPA and BA in Linguistics.He contested for the Member of Parliament position for Constituency 082 under the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and won in 2012.

He was passionate and as a representative in the house of Parliament ensured that Development is taking to his people which help to change the life of his people. In 2018, his people called upon him again to maintain his position as he was vocal and deliberated on issues well in the house of Parliament. He contested with other political parties and was victorious. 

Honourable Basiru Silikie is thechairman for works, housing and assets committee in the house of Parliament. He is also a Member of two other Committees;mines and minerals committee and information committee.

Roads, education and agriculture are the felt needs identified by Honourable Basiru Silikie and his people and calling on Government through the honourable Member to ensure that these needs are addressed.

Honourable Alusine Kanneh was elected as a representative in the house of Parliament for Constituency 013Kenema DistrictEastern region of Sierra Leone in 2012 under the ticket of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP). His determination and desire in addressing issues affecting his people made him a strong advocate in the house of Parliament. He cherishes and has desire for politics and with the call of his people again he had no choice but to contest for the Member of Parliament role for the second time in 2018. Hon. Ibrahim Ben Kargbo Member Of Parliament 034 APC
Profile: Honourable Ibrahim Ben Kargbo

Born on the 18th October 1944 in Bombali district, Honourable Ibrahim Ben Kargbo is a Journalist by profession. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree and Diploma in Journalism.

He has served as President for the Sierra Leone Association of Journalist and was also Minister of Information and Communication during the first term of former President Ernest Bai Koroma’s government.  

Honourable Ibrahim Ben Kargbo has been an advocate for issues affecting youths, women and children in his constituency. After a dedicated service as Minister of Information and Communications, he was called upon by his people to serve as their representative in the House of Parliament. He first contested for the parliamentary seat in 2012 and won with a comfortable margin.

His exemplary leadership and committed service to his people accounted for him to be re-elected for his second term as Member of Parliament for constituency 034 in Bombali district, following the March 2018 parliamentary polls.

Honourable Ibrahim Ben Kargbo is the current Deputy Leader of Opposition (APC) in the House of Parliament. He is also the chairman for Ethics committee and a Member of two other committees; Appointment and Public Service and Information and Communications committees.

He has shown genuine commitment to respond to these needs through engagement with development partners and ensuring better legislations are in place to reflect the aspirations of his people.

She is a strong advocate, believes in accountability and passionate about issues affecting her people such as Health facilities, pipe-bore water issues affecting women, youth and children which she believes can be address as she being their representative through empowerment of women by effective use of resources available; stronger and beneficial international relationship and better employment opportunities for the entire Sierra Leonean populace. She believes in the ideology of the All people’s Congress party (APC) and contested for the Member of Parliament for Constituency 037 Kambia DistrictNorthern Region under the umbrella of the (APC) in March 2018. She eventually won the election even though she faced many challenges from her male competitors.

Honourable Catherine Zainab Tarawally always advocate for accountability and respect others opinions which the leaders of Parliament respected well and for such reason appointed her as the deputy chairman for the human rights committee in the house of Parliament. She is also a Member of two other Committees; fisheries and marine resources committee and the local government and rural development committee.

HonourableCatherine Zainab Tarawallyhas identified Drainage and road construction, Pipe-bore water, Electricity, Health Facilities especially for pregnant women and children, Youth empowerment as major constituency needs for her people. Born on 12th July 1970 in Pujehun District Southern Province of Sierra Leone. Honourable Dickson Rogers is a Politician and obtained his Bachelor of Art Hons Degree in International Travel and Tourism Communications in 2008 at the University Of Arts London College Of Communication.

The people of Constituency 100 in Pujehun District trusted Honourable Dickson Momoh Rogers and because of this he was elected Member of Parliament for Constituency 100Pujehun DistrictSouthern Region of Sierra Leone under the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) in 2012.

He advocated well in the house of Parliament through Legislative and Oversights Processes to see that Smiles are put on the faces of the people of Pujehun District and the Sierra Leonean Populace in ensuring that their problems are addressed.
