Biography of Hon. Alie Bayoh

Hon. Alie Bayoh is a distinguished Sierra Leonean politician, legislator, and governance expert with a strong background in leadership, policy development, and public service. Born on December 28, 1985, in Borbu Village, Kenema District, Hon. Bayoh has dedicated his career to serving his country through various leadership roles in both governmental and non-governmental sectors.

Education and Academic Achievements

Hon. Bayoh has pursued an extensive academic journey, equipping himself with knowledge and expertise in governance, business, and leadership. He holds a Master’s in Governance and Leadership from the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), earned in 2023, and a Master’s in Business Administration(MBA) from the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE),Beijing, China, completed in 2022.

His commitment to leadership development is evident in his Certificate in Leadership Training from the Senac Institute, São Paulo, Brazil (2017). He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Sociology from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone (2013) and a Diploma in International Relations from Milton Margai College of Education and Technology (2008).

Political Career

Hon. Alie Bayoh was elected as a Member of Parliament in 2023, representing his constituents in the Sierra Leone House of Parliament. In this role, he actively participates in national decision-making processes, legislative development, and policy oversight. His key responsibilities include:

Drafting and reviewing legislation to promote national development.

Conducting oversight functions to ensure government accountability and transparency.

Representing the interests and concerns of his constituents in parliamentary deliberations.

Engaging with the public to foster inclusive governance and policy implementation.

Asa dedicated legislator, Hon. Bayoh serves on several parliamentary committees, including:

Committee on Communication, Innovation, and Technology

Committee on Tourism and Cultural Affairs

Committee on Water Resources and Sanitation

Committee on Environment and Climate Change

Through these roles, he actively contributes to policies and initiatives that support technological advancement, sustainable tourism, water resource management, and environmental protection in Sierra Leone.

Professional Experience

Before entering parliament, Hon. Bayoh gained valuable experience in governance, project management, and public administration:

Project Coordinator (2021 – 2022) at Women’s United for Sustainable Agricultural Development, where he spearheaded initiatives to promote gender empowerment and sustainable farming practices.

Personal Assistant to the former Deputy Minister of Agriculture (2018 – 2020), assisting in policy development, stakeholder engagement, and ministerial administration.

Sales Representative (2014 – 2016) at Masada Waste Management Company, contributing to environmental sanitation efforts and business development.

Areas of Interest and Vision

Hon. Bayoh is deeply passionate about experience sharing, gaining new knowledge on parliamentary proceedings, and understanding global legislative systems. His vision is to strengthen Sierra Leone’s governance structures through informed policy making, strategic partnerships, and effective legislative reforms.
