Biography

Profile  Honourable Dr. Unpha Sorie Gbassay Koroma

Born on 1st September 1972 in Washington D.C. USA.

He is a Doctorate in Pharmacy from Howard University with a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry from the same University. He also had a Master's in Executive Management (EMBA) from Colorado Technical University, GCE. Ordinary Level from Bo School and Advance Level from Albert Academy.

After working in health care in the United States of America from 2003 to 2017 he cherished the desire for politics and with the call of his people, he decided to come to Sierra Leone and take the toughest challenge by standing as a candidate to compete for the Member of Parliament role in constituency 114 Western Area Urban under  the All People’s Congress Party(APC) . 

With so many challenges faced by him from his competitors, he was able to stand the test of time and won the parliamentary seat to represent his people in the Sierra Leone House of Parliament in March 2018.

Hon. Dr. Unpha Sorie G. Koroma is a strong  advocate for gender and youth empowerment. He is a proponent on issues affecting women and children, on effective and efficient supply of resources, robust and valuable international relationship and better employment opportunities for the people of Sierra Leone. He was therefore appointed as Member for the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Committee in the house of Parliament. He was also a Member of the Health and Sanitation Committee, Transparency and Accountability Committee and Trade and Industry Committee in the Fifth Parliament.

He was also re-elected to represent his people of Western Urban district in the District block system and he is currently the Chairman of the Information and Civic Education Committee in this Sixth Parliament. He is also the Spokesperson of the APC in Parliament.
