Hon. Mariama Munia Zombo 

Hon. Mariama Munia Zombo is the Public Relations Officer for the Parliamentary Female Caucus, and a member of the following Committees:

Gender and Children's Affairs committee 

Environment and Climate change committee 

Human Rights Committee

Hon. Mariama Munia Zombo is the Deputy Chairperson for the Environment and Climate change committee in the 6th Parliament.

Hon. Mariama Munia Zombo (Mrs.) is an M.P for Sierra LeonePeople’s Party with strong political and family roots in Barri, Peje ,Kpanga,Kabonde, Sowa, Soro Gbema and Makpele Chiefdoms in Pujehun District.  She is a double Masters holder (Master of PublicHealth, MPH., Master of Science, MSc., and Bachelor of Science, BSc.). Hon.Zombo is a member of the S.L.P.P Women’s Council, an active PartyPatron/Supporter, Development Consultant and Business Entrepreneur ( CEO ofMuniazee Creations). She is a recognized as a National Debater, writer andGender Equality Advocate who recently represented the S.L.P.P in a National Debateon the “The role of Political Parties in implementing the Gender Equality andWomen’s Empowerment ( GEWE) Act, 2022”.

Prior to her political life, Hon. Mariama Munia Zombo hadworked extensively in Strategic Programming, Operations, Gender-responsivePolicy and Legislation Development, Grants Management and Community Developmentfor over 28 years. She has experience in the fields of Communication, GirlsEducation, Health, Food Aid, Livelihoods, Women, Youth empowerment, GenderAdvocacy, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene/ WASH, Child Protection andPsychosocial Care at National and Community level. She has resided and workedin the field/ frontlines in Communities in Pujehun and all the Districts inSierra Leone.  Hon. Zombo has also workedin parts of West Africa ( Senegal, The Gambia, Liberia, Guinea)and has serveddiligently in Leadership/Managerial and Programme/Technical positions withGovernment ( National Commission for War Affected Children)and InternationalOrganizations( Plan International, UNICEF and Child Fund, to name a few). Shehas also served as Board member for Rights-based  Organisations including Defence for ChildrenInternational in Sierra Leone, currently board member for She Stands SierraLeone and Climate Action Defense(CAD) Sierra Leone .

Her campaign message in 2023 was:
